Hi friends.

In this issue: work travel is back, Grok Bot, and going viral on X.

Work travel is back

Work travel is steadily picking back up after a pause during summer.

This week I went to Houston for a day trip. Out the door at 5:30am to the airport. Back home at 11:00pm. Quick shower and then bed.

I made a little vlog of the trip. They're corny, but it's great for my personal brand even if the post doesn't do well on LinkedIn. I get DMs about my next trip. When I join calls, people break the ice asking about my travel.

Grok Bot has me completely obsessed

It's Clawdbot/OpenClaw but for corporate, and no self-hosting needed. ChatGPT and Claude will likely deploy their own versions soon, so I'm not pivoting the whole company over there yet. In the past week it's changed much of my daily workflow.

Tactical, from this week:

  • Fed it my personal finances. It found 3 duplicate subscriptions: Peacock at $10.99 I already get on Xfinity, a second Uber One on Amex vs Chase, and extra Apple Health/Fitbit I canceled.

  • Found flights for the Houston trip. I just gave it the city and the time of the meeting, and it searched Google Flights for me.

  • Used it as an editor on my writing. Fixing typos and giving me drafts of punchier posts.

  • Dumped my personal Gmail. Archived 2,717 promo threads. Nothing deleted.

  • Made a Pokémon card of Oliver, then a 16x20 birthday print so it filled the paper.

  • Pointed nikfuller.com at Beehiiv. Had to move nameservers off Bluehost first. www is live as Nik Fuller's Newsletter.

  • Reverse-engineered an Instagram reel (Adam Saad): OpenRouter via a Telegram bot named Reggie, mockups in Gemini.

  • Collected email-course feedback into a spreadsheet.

  • Troubleshot people who said they never got the course email. Some had already been sent. A couple were old students so the sequence didn't restart. One had two courses overlapping the same day.

That's the week.

Going viral on X

I've had two posts go viral in the past week.

Off those tweets, 108 people subscribed to this newsletter this week. That puts us at 844.

People are really interested in the journey of quitting and starting their own business. I'm still figuring it out 4 years in.

I've been collecting topics from DMs and replies for what else to talk about.

The End

Go big.
